Whale shark season kicked off… yesterday! While I was in the room working on the computer. Fortunately, it was still great today, and hopefully it’ll remain so now for the rest of the time we’re here.
There were at least 15 sharks (we’re still photo-identifying more) around where we were this morning, all intensively feeding on dense clouds of sergestid shrimp (whale sharks’ favourite prey here at Mafia).
Thinking about it now, these were probably the first whale sharks I’ve seen “properly” feeding this year. Crazy. Clearly I need to make better life choices 😉
Like geeky animal facts and dad jokes?
I write a few articles just for my mailing list. They normally focus on something interesting, and possibly hilarious, that I've learnt about sharks (or other random animals) that week. There may also be groan-inducing jokes.
Real talk: there will be groan-inducing jokes.
